Research interests and background

My current research lies at the intersection of categorified geometric representation theory and quantum link invariants, drawing on ideas and methods from higher category theory and homotopy theory. Its central themes are categorification, factorization homology, and topological quantum field theories (TQFTs).

One of my long-term projects seeks to construct TQFTs relevant to the categorification program from Hall algebra-theoretic data. Lax structures in higher categories provide a unifying framework, with examples and applications including:

Braided monoidal $2$-categories assembled from finite Hecke categories and their relation to the conjectural “flattening functor.”
Tensor products of categorified representations of categorified quantum groups.
Factorizable Schobers.

My earlier work includes homological stability and arithmetic statistics.

I completed my PhD at the University of Chicago in June 2017 under the guidance of Ngo Bao Chau and Dennis Gaitsgory. I was an undergraduate at Princeton University.
